Bokomon: really? You’re not mad?
Darkangemon: What? And break my probation? Do I look crazy? I’m sure that our vocationally challenged spirit can bring it home without much trouble.

Joe: When?
Tai: Last night, I heard.
Cody: Kind of sad though
Tai, Joe and Agumon stare at Cody shocked
Cody: I thought he’d never go!
All four Gentlemen burst out laughing
Joe: my question is what their going to do about his money?
Tai: well he didn’t give it to me!
Cody: Tai, you couldn’t have use for that kind of money
Tai: True!
Joe: anyway, it’s bound to be a cheap funeral

Agumon: I wouldn’t mind going!
Cody: What?
Agumon: if lunch is provided.
Tai: speaking of lunch!
Joe: agreed let’s eat.
Gentlemen fade into the mizzy rain
Matt: I know some of those Gentlemen spirit, I do business with them.
??? nods and points to a small alcove under a bridge three figures stand before a scruffily dressed Kazu who is rubbing his hands
Kazu: Well, well, an undertaker a maid and a nurse, back from the house of sadness I see.
Yamaki: Indeed, Sad he didn’t peg earlier.
Kazu: My thoughts exactly, but what have you for old Joe? What have you got for me, To “remember” him by?
Yamaki: I have his Collar buttons. Mother
of
Kazu: Hmm a nice find worth a few coins.
Riley: Ha that’s nothing! I got his bed-curtains. Very fine silk
Kazu: very cheap silk, but I could still find something that it’s worthy of.
Mimi: I got his blankets.
Kazu: Why Mrs. Morris they’re still warm! I don’t pay extra for the warmth.
Mimi: You should, it’s the only warmth he ever had the old skinflint.
All four people start cackling
Matt: I see now spirit! The fate of this poor gentleman may very well be my own. Just please, show me some tenderness.
??? Waves his hand and they are across the road from Bob Cratchitt’s house
Matt: Yes Spirit this is what I wish to see compassion and family at Christmas time
Matt crosses the street only to be greeted by the sound of sobbing.
Matt: Spirit what happened here?
??? points at the house again, Matt looks in through a window.
In front of them Jeri is again cooking chestnuts but this time her eyes are red and she’s sniffing a bit. Henry is turning the spit while his eyes are averted to the ground.
Suzie: Mom? Are you crying?
Jeri : No dear sniff its just the light, sniff it makes my eyes weak. I should dab them I wouldn’t want to show weak eyes to your father.
Suzie: Yeah where is daddy anyway?
Henry: I think he’s been walking home a bit slower these last few nights.
Matt: Oh no! Not Tiny Tim?
Takato walks in through the door, his eyes are also reddened and he is shuffling sadly.
Takato: Hello my dears.
Suzie: Daddy!
Jeri: Welcome home dear.
Takato embraces Suzie and then turns to Jeri.
Jeri: How was the churchyard?
Takato: It was Ok, you should have come Emily. It would have done you good to see how green the place is.
Jeri sniffs and nods
Takato: I picked a good spot for Tim, its up on the hill… you can see the ducks on the river.
Jeri: He’d have liked that.
??? puts his hand on Matt’s shoulder.
Matt: Yes spirit the night is fading fast.
??? and Matt walk amongst the tombstones at the churchyard, Matt seems distracted and turns to the spirit with a look of agony on his face
Matt: I know what I must ask spirit, though it fills me with dread to do so. Who is this man whose death brought so much joy and happiness to others?
??? points to a small gravestone at the edge of the cemetery.
Matt: I also need to know, are these the images of things that will happen or are they images of what might happen?
??? points at the gravestone again this time with more forcefulness.
Matt: A life can be changed.
Matt stoops over the gravestone and scrapes the ice off the name.
Matt: Ebenezer Scrooge! I knew it before I even wiped the snow from it. Spirit! Please speak comfort to me! Please tell me I can change what is yet to come. Please tell me that I can expunge the writing from this stone!
???’s hood lifts a fraction and Matt is confronted by two red eyes staring forbiddingly at him.
Matt: Spirit I beg you Answer me.
??? lifts his hand and the earth surrounding Matt’s grave is pushed to the side, Matt stares in horror as his own casket rises to the surface.
Matt: Spirit?
???’s eyes glow slightly brighter as he pushes Matt into the open grave. The last thing we see before the scene goes black is Matt falling deeper into the earth.
Matt: Did I die?
Matt puts up his hands only to find that he’s covered by his bed sheets.
Matt: I’m back, I’m back at home.
Matt looks to the bed curtains,
Matt: Their not torn down, their still here! I’m still here!
We move back to see Bokomon and Neemon sitting upon the windowsill.
Bokomon: That’s right, the curtains were his own, the bed was his own; the future stood before him, and it could be changed.
Neemon: Hi everyone we’re back!
Matt: I can’t believe it, I’m alive! I’m as happy as an angel, I’m as jubilant as a schoolboy.
Neemon: Are you sure it’s safe to be here?
Bokomon: Scrooge is saved. What can happen?
Matt opens the windows sending Bokomon and Neemon flying into a nearby snow drift
Bokomon: I had to ask.
Pink waistband Patamon flutters past them.
Matt: Say you, Boy!
PWP: Who me?
Matt: Yes You! What day is it?
PWP: You’re kidding right? Today is Christmas everyone knows that silly.
Matt: Its Christmas! I haven’t missed it! The spirits did it all in one night! Of course they can do whatever they like! Of course they can! Of course they can!
PWP: Of course they can?
Matt: Tell me is the Prize Turkey still in the poulterers?
PWP: The one as big as me? Its still there!
Matt: Well Then Go Out and buy it. Buy it for me and I’ll buy it for me and I’ll give you a shilling, no make that five shillings!
Matt throws a bag of money at Pink Waistband Patamon
PWP: Yessir
Bokomon:
And a few minutes later, Scrooge, in his winter finest went out to wish a
Merry Christmas to all of
Matt leaps from the front door of his house tapping his feet joyfully.
Bokomon: it was not long before he came upon two familiar faces.
Matt walks down the street only to come upon Kenta and Marineangemon
Matt: Ah just the gentlemen I was hoping to see. I want to talk about a donation.
Marineangemon hides behind Kenta who is holding his top hat like a shield.
Matt: I’d like to start with 20 pounds and there’ll be more after that.
Kenta looks amazed as Matt dances away.
Kenta: What’s with him?
Marineangemon: I dunno.
Matt is walking towards Takato’s house with PWP in tow, PWP is so overloaded by the turkey that he’s only drifting about a centimetre above the ground after intensive flapping. Matt knocks on the Cratchits’ door after shooing PWP out of sight.
Matt: Bob Cratchitt!
Takato opens the door.
Takato: Mr Scrooge? What are you doing here?
Matt: That’s not important sir. You were not at work today as we agreed!
Takato: But sir its Christmas Day, you gave me the day off.
Matt: I Ebenezer Scrooge?
Takato: Err… umm… well… you did sir.
Matt: Bob I have no choice.
Jeri rushes out at Matt, her face is red and she looks about to explode
Jeri: No choice to what? Fire him? Your one to talk you mean spirited miser. I hope you can find a place to hang that mouldy crow you call a tailcoat.
Matt: Considering I was going to raise your husband’s salary and significantly improve your Christmas dinner I’ll hang that crow over here if that’s ok?
Jeri gapes and steps aside as PWP pulls the turkey in
Matt: Bob Cratchitt would you like to join me for a little turkey dinner?

Bokomon: I see someone else ruined the suspense for you.
Kouichi *Smiling*: I hear I’m too scary for you Bokomon.
Bokomon: I didn’t want Neemon ruining the suspense
Kouichi: I’m sure
Neemon: Umm Bokomon?
Bokomon: Yes Neemon?
Neemon: Why did we do this. I mean this story has been modified and changed so many times no one remembers the original
Bokomon: A Cultural question? From Neemon?
Bokomon glares at Neemon, then he snaps Neemon’s pants
Bokomon: I think this is the end.
THE END!!!!
Neemon: I think you’re right!
