Jedi_Amara
Nickname: Jedi_Amara,
JA, KamikazeKame, Eigenvector, GreatKawaiiPenguin, _GLOMP_HARE_, _RAPE_RABBIT_
(do you really want to know?)
Real Name: You'll never know... unless you're, like, Greg
or Dan or Ali or Robert or Anthony or Gareth or Victor or Caroline or... any
of those people who know. o_O
Position: Webmaster / Forum Admin Of Doom / Everything Else
You Could Possibly Think Of
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Gender: That's sexist XD. (Think about it. What kind of person
would call him- or herself Jedi_Amara? Actually, don't answer that.) Uhh, just
look at my avatar... and my Anime character obsessions *KOUICHI* XD
Email: [ja at ryux dot net] - it's written this way to prevent
spambots picking it up. Take everything inside the [], and remember "at" is @
and "dot" is . I don't like email much, and may take several weeks
to months to reply to you... I just don't have time to go through most stuff.
If you really want to get in touch with me, a private
message on the forums is
best.
AIM sn: Jedi
Amara (I usually don't use this one, as I have a private one which most of
my friends know)
Yahoo id: jedi_amara
(very rarely used - maybe once a year?)
MSN: jedi_amara@hotmail.com (your best bet to get hold of me)
Likes (anime): I'd say my favourite series were Fullmetal
Alchemist (Ed is <3), Yakitate!! Japan (turtle bread is <3) and AIR TV (Potato
is <3).
Obviously I love Digimon too (Kouichi is <3). Others I really liked were
Pokémon,
Kujibiki Unbalance, Card Captor Sakura, Medabots, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Sailor Moon, Beyblade,
Love Hina (Tama-chan
is <3)... heck, pretty much
any Anime I've seen. Except DBZ. I hate DBZ. I used to hate Beyblade too, but
now I'm kind of hooked on it, it's absolutely fantastic. Ray and Kai are
just so cute, especially in V-Force. I liked it enough to make a website
about it. Oh yeah, and I like Kouichi. (And Kouji - but Kouichi is cuter.)
And Haku from Spirited Away, 'cause he's cute and that was an awesome
movie. I tend not to watch mechas...
Likes (other): Star Wars (well, duh - look at the name), eating,
computers (everything about them), my computer magazines, rock music, pop-punk
and punk music... and emo music. XD
Favourite books: Um. I'll kind of read anything fantasy you
stick in front of me. What's my favourite? I honestly don't know. Possibly
George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. And Dilbert.
World's best comic.
Favourite movie (anime/animated): Anything that comes out of
Studio Ghibli tends to be pretty good, but I guess it'd be Howl's Moving
Castle (especially since I loved the book) or Nausicaa of the Valley
of the Wind. Totoro and Kiki were good too... and Spirited
Away.
Favourite movie (non-animated): School of Rock, 'cause
it's awesome. Mean Girls comes second (I like Lindsay Lohan movies in
general, and somewhat embarrassingly, Hilary Duff movies).
I've
only
seen
the
last
two Star
Wars movies but thought they were good, also Men In Black (the
first one more than the second). I've seen The Sound of Music more times
than I can count, know the words to most of the songs, been to a singalong screening
of it and walked the streets of Salzburg, Austria, arm-in-arm with fellow musicians,
singing "Doe, a Deer". XD Seriously. I think we freaked people out.
Favourite songs/music: My favourite songs change... I really
don't have a favourite anymore.
I'll
listen to
most stuff,
although gangsta rap and most R'n'B annoy me, and I can't stand dance music.
My favourite genres are probably the punk-related ones - pop-punk, punk, emo,
that kind of stuff - although I listen to a lot of rock too. Favourite bands?
Old Kisschasy is my favourite - their new stuff disappointed me - and other faves
include Yellowcard, Punchline, Over It, Matchbook Romance, Something With Numbers,
Gyroscope,
Bodyjar,
old
Good
Charlotte,
Brand
New
and
Trapt,
although there's a list as long as my arm. As for singers, I'm a fan of Avril
Lavigne (yeah, so sue me), Skye Sweetnam, old Robbie Williams (when he was still
writing with Guy Chambers),
Rob
Thomas,
Jason
Mraz, Ryan Cabrera and Jesse McCartney.
Favourite Digimon season: It used to be 02, it's probably Frontier
now because of all the cuteness. I'd say Frontier, followed by 02, then Adventure
and Tamers
last. Savers isn't bad so far. :D
Favourite Digimon character: Definitely Kouichi, enough said.
Actually no, it's not enough. Kouichi is the cutest character I have ever come
across. He is extremely
cute. *JA goes on for three hours, seventeen minutes and fifty-six point
three two seconds about Kouichi's cuteness* OMG AND TOHMA! <33333333333333
But
I
think
Kouji
and
Ken are really cute too. *Two hours, forty-seven minutes and twenty-two point
eight
oh seconds for Kouji and two hours, twenty-one minutes exactly for Ken.*
Dislikes (anime): DragonBall/Z/GT (urggghh, I HATE that thing),
Beyblade (because it pushed Pokémon off morning TV, and just whose idea was
it to make an Anime about spinning tops anyway? and it's just a cheap ripoff
of Pokémon) (actually, now I'm addicted to it) (it's a great Anime) (well,
maybe not great as an anime but decent anyway) (I have a website on it anyway),
DB/Z/GT, DBZ,
DBZ (sorry, I just really hate it, and it's probably the ONLY one I really
hate)
Dislikes (music): Ahh, Britney has to top the list there. (Although
I liked Everytime. And Toxic.) Also things like Madonna, Kylie
Minogue, Beyonce, all that weird pop stuff. There's very little girl-pop I like. Also
dance music.
Dislikes (other): People who assume things about me.
Other sites: Over the years I've had many sites. Today, my main ones are PW, The Pokémon Peninsula (my Pokémon site), Egopedia, where you SHOULD GO AND MAKE A PAGE ABOUT YOURSELF >O, and the RyuX Network root, which is just my personal site and has stuff about me on it. Notes at Random is supposed to be my music rants/reviews blog, but I keep forgetting about it. There's also the RXN forums and topsites. There are three site networks, the Digidollar Network for Digimon, the Pocket Power Network for Pokémon and the Hentai-Free Network. My art is at my deviantART account, and I also have my LiveJournal, which is friends-only (leave a comment there and I'll add you). I have various non-updating sites, like Beyblade Seishin, a few band fansites and some old school projects. This year I'm maintaining the website for the anime club of which I'm a member, the Weekly Watchers of Wonderful Anime.
Hobbies and Interests: Reading fantasy, writing comic fantasy, playing violin, playing piano, teaching self guitar, listening to punk music, listening to pop-punk music, listening to rock music, listening to emo music, listening to - oh, you get the idea. Boy bands =P. Obsessing over cute members of bands. Obsessing over random bands, webmastering, programming. Poking people. Sniggering at people. Trying not to spam. Succeeding. Not succeeding. Proving teachers wrong.
A bit about me: I'm an Anime freak and computer geek. All my friends reckon this is not a good combination. ***Warning: Bad DtM Soundtrack Puns coming up*** They think I'm Strange, but All My Best Friends Are Metalheads. I reckon I'm an All-Star, even though we've never been Kids In America. The Impression That I Get of Digimon is that it can get you hooked in One Week, even when you're Nowhere Near a TV and you have to Runaround everywhere. Anyway, Here We Go into the rest of my profile - I think I'm going to Spill my thoughts to you. ***Warning Ends***
I'm a second-year studying software engineering and science (maths major) at university. And I guess that tells you a lot about me already. XD I spend a lot of time programming and making websites - I have experience in languages including C, Haskell, VB6 *winces*, BASIC *shudders*, HTML (o_O), Javascript and PHP, with PHP being my favourite by far (it really annoys me that, even though PHP is installed on the student servers in the CS department, we're not allowed to use it on our personal webpages - static HTML only ;_; But I prettify it with CSS. And destroy stuff with Javascript). I enjoy maths and sciences, but regret that my degree doesn't allow me to pursue any languages, as I'd have liked to continue German (which I studied at school) or start something new, like Latin or Japanese. My favourite computer games are Minesweeper, NetHack and Icy Tower.
I saw my first animes when I was 7 or 8 (Sailor Moon and Sonic Underground) and started watching more when I was about 10 (Pokémon, Digimon, "Cardcaptors" etc) but I didn't really have access to non-kiddy-dubbed-stuff until I started uni and joined the anime club, since I live in Australia and don't have pay TV. AND THEN I SAW THE SUB OF CCS AND WANTED TO KILL NELVANA >O
I'm good at music and play violin and piano well, which is why I chose a Sayoko avatar. I also play first violin in the music faculty orchestra at uni. I've been trying to teach myself guitar, with not much success. I've also been known to play flute, recorder, jawharp and triangle. XD
I'm incredibly lazy and rarely do anything, unless poked. Which is totally why this site never gets updated. >O
