The episode starts with the digidestined searching for their D-tectors. A crab comes and pinches J.P.’s rear end. He manages to get it off. Neemon looks for the Toucanmon in Bokomon’s waistband and Bokomon tells him that he’d get in big trouble if the egg got cold.
Meanwhile, the Toucanmon have the boys’ D-tectors and are discussing them. They are unhappy that Ranamon turned into Calmaramon and destroyed their home as payment for stealing the D-tectors. They throw them into the ocean, but one Toucanmon flies and catches each D-tector.He thinks that since Ranamon has a lot of other fans, they should sell them. They fly across the ocean to the Autumn Leaf Fair.
The boys sit down for a rest and J.P. sighs. Zoe asks him what’s wrong and he says that he was wondering if when she got her Beast Spirit, she’d be scary like Calmaramon. Zoe shouts at them and she snaps Neemon’s waistband because he wasn’t so enthusiastic.
Takuya spots the Toucanmon heading for the Autumn Leaf Fair. They try to swim across, but the Gomamon stop them. They tell them that it isn’t safe to swim across because their are whirlpools in the water and even if you could get across, the only way you could land is that littel hollow and everywhere else, you would crash onto the shore. It turns out that the Gomamon were once inhabitants of that island. They tell their story:
One day, we went out to play and get some food and their was a big earthquake. That’s when the whirlpools started. We were cut off from our group.
Meanwhile, Calmaramon is trying to control her Beast Spirit. Mercurymon comes and says that the Beast Spirit is useless because she cannot control it.
Everybody starts building a raft. Takuya is carrying a log when he stops to see what J.P. is doing kneeling in the sand. J.P. has a stick in his hand and is sketching a plan for the boat. Takuya looks at an elaborate sketch of a huge boat. Takuya says sarcastically that that should only take a few years to build. They start on the way to the island.
In the Evil Spirit’s lair, Calmaramon tells Mercurymon that she has mastered her Beast Spirit. Mercurymon tells her that she has only destroyed half the lair. Calmaramon points out that rocks are tougher to beat then little kids. Mercurymon says that she should better make good use with a broom. Calmaramon Slide Evolves to Ranamon.
The raft approaches the whirlpools and Ranamon appears on a tidal wave. Zoe groans and everybody tries to persuade Zoe not to do it. But she does it anyway. She tries to kick Ranamon, but she moves water. She tries her Hurrricane Wave, but Ranamon moves water in her way again. She uses her attack, causing Kazemon to fall into the whirlpools.
She de-evolves into Zoe, and sinks to the bottom. She sees a giant clam shell that opens with a little figure mounted on a black platform. She uses her D-tector to absorb the Spirit and it lifts her up.
On the raft, the boys are panicking over the loss of Zoe. They have a very narrow escape from losing J.P., too. Ranamon complains that she didin’t get a chance to test her Beast Spirit. Just as she is about to attack them, Zoe comes up and Beast Spirit Evolves to Zephyrmon, as Bokomon calls it, the Ho of the Legendary Warrior of Wind. Ranamon uses her Dark Vapor, which melts anything, but Zephyrmon doesn’t melt. Ranamon admirers her. She uses her Plasma Pods attack to break through the pillar of water that Ranamon is standing on. The boys notice that she’s controlling her Beast Spirit.
Then she Slide Evolves to Calmaramon. She attacks with Acid Ink. Zephyrmon dodges, but it hits the cliff, melting it. Calmaramon attacks the boys and Zephyrmon hits the attack, but a little of it get on her, melting it. Calmaramon manages to wrap one of her tentacles around her. She squeezes Zephyrmon and Takuya, Koji, and J.P. start calling Calmaramon names. It distracts her. Koji thinks that if we distract her long enough, maybe Zephyrmon can escape. Everybody, even the Gomamon, startes calling Calmaramon names. She gets angry and Zephrymon slips out. She uses Hurricane Gale, but it only drives Calmaramon back into the water. Calmaramon pops up and uses her Titanic Tempest, but she loses control of her Beast Spirit and Zephyrmon just sits back and enjoys the show. Calmarammon soon looks like a star in the daytime, spinning out of control.
They arrive on the island in one peace and the whirlpools have stopped. They ask the Gomamon if they have seen any Toucanmon around there. They find out that they’re at the Autumn Leaf Fair. Bokomon looks it up and it’s a trader’s market. J.P. complains that nothing is ever easy. rika wraps it up.
