Season 4, Episode 01

We see a new goggle-boy (Takuya, all though we don't know this yet) running down the street, a cellphone in his hands. He looks down at it. "Your future has been decided." He continues to run. A father and his son is playing ball on the street. As Takuya runs past, the father's cellphone rings. He doesn't notice his son kicking the ball towards him. In slow motion, we see Takuya doing so. Reaching the crossroad he catches it with his foot, just as a truck drives at him. Takuya kicks the ball away before noticing and the truck-driver, too busy to listen to his own cellphone, manages to stop.

We are taken back several minutes before the incident. Takuya is sitting at the dining room, looking bored. His mother is talking on the phone, seems that his dad can't make it home early and it is Shinya's (Takuya's younger brother) birthday. A cake is centred in the middle of the table, with strawberries on top. He tries to steal one, but fails as his mother notices.

Suddenly his cellphone is calling and the brunette first thinks it is a phone call. But then, he notices an incoming message. "Would you like to start, or not?" He presses yes to open the message. A female voice speaks, and first he can't understand from where. It tells him that his future has been decided. Takuya is confused and wonders how she can know his name? A new message appears, this giving him directions to take the train to Shibuya, which leaves 17:45, which means 5:45pm.

We are taken back to the incident with the truck. Takuya throws himself towards the other side of where the truck could hit him. The truck-driver stops, opens the door, and wonders if he is okay? Looking back at the message, Takuya wonders what time it is? The driver says 17:40 (5:40pm). Takuya panics and continue to run. He reaches the station a minute before the train is departing, just as it arrives. But he hasn't brought any money for a ticket. Banging his head against the ticket machine, a red ticket comes out. Thinking he is lucky, he runs to manage to get on.

He probably arrives just in time, trying to catch his breaths. The sound of cellphone signals makes him look around. A lot of kids is on the same train. As well as Kouji, (and even this time, we don't know this.) The kids receive a new message, and Takuya looks down at his cellphone, which tells him to take the underground train from Shibuya, 18:00 (6pm). This means, he has six minutes left to reach his destination. Takuya cries out, thinking this is impossible.

The train arrives at Shibuya. Not knowing where to go, Takuya looks around. Kouji passes him, and probably the brunette notices something about this, as he decides to follow. Kouji walks to the elevator, with Takuya at his heels. The brunette barely makes it jumping in. The doors closes behind him. The elevator goes down, and Takuya rubs his head, probably from the landing. (I am surprised how long those goggles can hold.) He asks Kouji if he has received the message as well, yet the new lonewolf doesn't answer. The elevator speeds up, landing with a crash and loads of smoke. It is a minute left until they will have to leave. Several trains, and even more kids are there. The female voice tells him this will be his last choice, if he wants to get on or not. Takuya hesitates (we will know why later). Kouji runs away, going to catch a train. A bell is signalling that it is time to leave. The doors closes and we see a kid (Tomoki) being pushed inside a train thanks to two guys (Katsuharu and Teppei). We also see doors close for Junpei and Izumi. The trains are leaving, and Takuya who has finally decided to follow, hurry to catch up. He manages to catch the rail on the back, and jump up. As he catches his breath, he sees Kouji on another train. The two stares at each other, before they enter separate tunnels.

Takuya goes to explore the train. In one of the compartments he sees a small group of kids (a fat boy, a blond girl and a younger smaller boy), around his age. One is eating chocolate, one is sitting alone looking down. He asks if they received a message as well. The fatter boy completely tries to ignore him, yet the girl complains saying they are in to this together. Takuya walks up to the fatter boy (Junpei). Junpei asks what he is doing here and Takuya answers. "I came here because I wanted to." Behind him the blond girl (Izumi) is giggling saying she thinks this will be interesting. Junpei, already receiving his crush over her, agrees with her, presenting himself as Shibayama Junpei. (In Eastern Asian countries the surname is placed before your first name.) Izumi present herself as Orimoto Izumi. Takuya tells them his name, Kanbara Takuya and wonders who the little guy sitting alone looking so down, is?

The little boy quietly says Himi Tomoki. He says that he doesn't want to be here repeatedly, thinking of how he was pushed in to the train. He is crying. Later the train jerks, the lights goes out and everyone falls to the floor. A new form is swiftly shown. Takuya looks around to see weird images from the others. Then the cellphone starts to shine and changes in his hand to a digivice. The female voice is welcoming him to the Digital World. The train, which by view is clearly no normal train, is chugging along the most unusual trail. Inside everyone are on the floor, looking confusingly at their digivices.

A flock of Poyomon floats by, and they stare at them, wondering what they are. One of them, close to the glass were Izumi stands, presses his face towards the glass. Izumi gets frightened, and the Poyomon are frightened by her. Takuya looks out through another window as the train reaches its destination. The Flame Terminal.

The doors open, and loads of Pagumon assembles around them. The trailmon drops them, literally throwing them out. He presents himself as Worm, and presents the Terminal for them. The kids are quite scared of the Pagumon surrounding them. Tomoki starts to cry wanting to go back home. The trailmon starts to leave. Before he disappears he tells them to look after the spirits. Tomoki is crying even louder and runs after the trailmon, who is now gone. Takuya hurries to catch up. Tomoki makes it to the trails without any safe ground beneath, balancing on the thin rail still going after it. Takuya stops reaching the end of safe ground. He tries to call him back, and manages too persuade him. Tomoki turns to go back, but slips and clings to the rail to prevent himself from falling. Takuya makes a move to get him, when a green light flashes and the two of them look up to see what it is. Two Digimon runs towards them, knocking over Takuya. One of them, white looking like a badly drawn duck of some sort, takes out a magnifying glass and exams the brunette. Takuya asks from what they were fleeing from? They answers that they forgot about that and looks back, at green flames. A dog with three heads, Cerberumon, appears. It wants the spirits. Even if the three, two Digimon and Takuya, tries to say they have no clue, Cerberumon attacks. Takuya is trapped between two beams of greenish fire and the duck like Digimon tells him to run. He obliged, running towards the rail to Tomoki, yet the rail breaks due to the digicode disappearing behind them. Tomoki, Takuya and the two Digimon fall down. Landing Takuya's digivice is thrown from his pocket, and starts to react. A white beam of light shoots from it, towards a big fire, activating the spirit. Cerberumon appears behind them, ready to destroy the spirit himself. Takuya, determined to stop him as he believes the spirit will help Tomoki home, tries to stop Cerberumon with pipe from the ground. He fails, holding Cerberumon's tail he is brought to the fire, which is Cerberumon's goal. The evil Digimon stands before the spirit, but before he can do anything his body catches fire. Crying in pain and wondering why it is affecting him, he escapes. In the fire, Takuya gets up bewildered that he is not burning. He looks up straight towards the spirit, making up his mind. We see a shot of him and the Spirit Digimon walking, crossing each others path. He calls out "Spirit", his digivice reacting to his voice, is summoned. The digivice absorbs the spirit and...

"Spirit Evolution... Agunimon!" (English: Execute Spirit Evolution... Agunimon!"

Cerberumon is confronted seeing that a human evolved into a Digimon. ,the duck-like Digimon recognising him, looks up the information in his book, telling both his yellow companion and Tomoki that this is Agunimon, the Warrior of Fire. Creberumon attacks, and Agunimon saves both Digimon and Tomoki, taking them to safety. Then he jumps back to fight. Cerberumon opens the Dark Gate, which are black holes in the ground. Agunimon tries to avoid falling, and jumps between. Yet, it is tricky and he falls as a gate opens below where he is supposed to land. He falls, trapped in the darkness. Cerberumon strikes from all around him, yet Agunimon manages to stop the strikes, and attacks with a tornado-like fire. Agunimon wins and Cerberumon's digicode appears. Agunimon scans it with his digivice. Cerberumon's digiegg flies away and Agunimon de-evolves back to Takuya, who seems to have a hard time to understand what really happened. The female voice in his digivice speaks again, telling him that he is a digidestined.

In the last of the episode we see a new trailmon appear. Inside we see Kouji on board and the episode ends.
