Season 4, Episode 03
summary written by Rachel
We start the episode seeing Koji watch the Poyomon. He comments on the Digital
World's beauty. The rest of the digidestined are at the Flame Terminal. Neemon
tells them that if they want to go home, they have to take this Trailmon. Takuya
and Zoe tell Tommy and J.P. to go on the Trailmon. They don’t want to
go, but agree reluctantly and go towards them. Takuya and Zoe start arguing
about themselves being responsible for the other person. The Trailmon leaves
and they see J.P. and Tommy walking towards them.
They start walking on the Trailmon track. Bokomon begs Takuya to help them because
he has the Spirit of Agunimon. Takuya tells him to stop yelling. Bokomon says
that the digimon need help retrieving the Fractal Code from Cherubimon. He tries
to get Neemon to say something, but Neemon does say something, but he says, "Something." Takuya
asks J.P. why he didn't leave. He says that he didn't have very much going on
at home at he thought that he might get to know them better. Takuya corrects
him. "You mean get to know Zoe better." Zoe asks Tommy, who is walking
on the Trailmon track, why he decided to stay. It turns out that Tommy wants
to be like Takuya, to be a digimon. He wants to be brave when he goes home. They
get a message (from Ophanimon but they don’t know it yet) and it tells
them to go to the Forest Terminal. Everybody asks Bokomon, who says that the
Forest Terminal is a place deep within the Forest Kingdom. To get there, they
should just follow these tracks. When everybody asks how far, he says all the
way.
When night comes, the digidestined arrive at the edge of a canyon. The Trailmon
track continues on the other side, but they can't balance on the track and walk
their way across. The bridge isn't there anymore. J.P. sees a trail that goes
all the way down to the bottom of the canyon then stops at a river. When they
hike down, he notices two groups of carvings on the walls. One is an angel, and
the other one are ten symbols arranged in a circle. Bokomon tells them that the
angel's Lucemon. The symbols in the circle are the Symbols of the Ten Legendary
Warfiors. Zoe says that one of them was on Takuya's belt when he Spirit Evolved
into Agunimon. Tommy points out that one of them was on Koji’s shoulder
when he Spirit Evolved into Lobomon. Bokomon tells them the Legend of Lucemon.
In ancient times there were terrible wars between humanoid and beast digimon
for control of the Digital World. One day an angel digimon called Lucemon appeared.
He taught them to resolve their differences and lie in peace and the fighting
stopped. Lucemon was a wise, kind ruler, but the peace of the Digital World was
short-lived. Lucemon, obsessed with his power, began to torment the peace-loving
digimon until they could take it no more. It was then that the Ten brave Warriors
rose up against him, and after a fierce battle, defeated Lucemon, restoring the
peace. The legend says that one day the spirits of these ancient warriors will
rise again in times of trouble.
The Candlemon reveal themselves as the lights J.P. saw. They accuse them of trying
to steal the ancient artifact. Bokomon triest to tell them that they are here
to help save the Digital World and that Takuya is the Legendary Warrior Agunimon.
Of course they don’t believe him. After some muttering, they apologize
and invite the children to a fire that has a pillar with the symbols of the Legendary
Warriors. They chant and dance around the fire while holding leaves. At a cue,
all the Candlemon throw their leaves into the fire. Then they start fanning the
fire. Bokomon identifies the leaves as Sleeping Clovers, but falls asleep before
he
plain its effects. J.P., Tommy, Zoe, and Neemom fall asleep. Takuya feels himself
nodding off, but he tries hard to keep himself awake. Just as he can stand it
no longer, he realizes the river and throws everybody inside except Bokomon and
Neemon. Tommy doesn't know how to swim so Takuya drags him. The Candlemon spit
fire balls at them, so everybody ducks. They swim (underwater) to a place in
the canyon where its shadow hides them. Takuya creates a plan: he would Spirit
Evolve to Agunimon and defeat the Candlemon while they get out of there. He tells
them to especially look after Tommy. He puts his goggles on and swims out. The
Candlemon spot him and attack. Just barely keeping ahead of them and dropping
this D-tector once, Takuya manages to Spirit Evolve to Agunimon, but the Candlemon
defeat him instantly using their Paraffin Paralizer attack. Tommy remembers how
Takuya always helped him (flashback to Takuya running after him when he was being
foolish in All Aboard; Takuya pushing him out of the way of Raremon's attack
in Lobomon: Warrior of Light) and he jumps down and splashes the Candlemon. Then
a Spirit came out of the ice and Tommy Spirit Evolved into Kumamon: The Legendary
Warrior of Ice.
One of Candlemon digivolved to Wizardmon. He disappears and attacks Agunimon.
He manages to dodge it, but just barely. Wizardmon unleashes a second attack
and Agunimon manages to dodge it again, but again just barely. Wizardmon compliments
him but then he makes clones of himself. All the Wizardmon attack at at the same
time. Agunimon jumps up to avoid their attacks and from the air, He sees Kumamon
looking at the Wizardmon closely. Kumamon notices that only one Wizardmon has
its shadow. Agunimon knee-punches that Wizardmon and his Fractal Code appears.
He scans his Fractal Code and Wizardmon turns into Candlemon. The Candlemon confess
that it was jut a test to see if they were Legendary Warriors. Takuya and Tommy
get angry at them. Then Wizardmon’s Fractal Code renders and repairs the
bridge. The chief Candlemon gave them his permission to use it, but another Trailmon
with Koji in it races across it first. They see Koji in there and wonder if he’s
going to the Forest Terminal too. Rika wraps it up.
